This is a follow-up to my previous post reviewing Meet Pill Gates / The Pill gates Profit Principles. In that post I reviewed The Pill Gates Profit Principles by Jo Han Mok and speculated on what, if any, back-end product he’d be releasing to the buyers who were left satiated with the info contained therein but still hungry for more.
An email was sent out by Mok, about 1 week after my purchase, with his response to a reader question. Basically, the customer wanted to know how to find the “next” hoodia. Well, the next hoodia has already been found, according to “Pill Gates.” Regardless, Mok discusses how many products are already on the market that, when re-packaged, can be given a new life. Perhaps it’s a different use, or less publicized (as of yet) use for a common herb, or perhaps it’s delivering a supplement in a new way. His examples included producing joint pain supplements as a topical cream rather then a pill.
His conclusion suggests one wanting to enter into health supplements and looking for what to sell should immerse oneself into the market completely, research, research, research.
It’s a rare day in internet marketing when a marketer suggests one must actually work (gasp!) to make money online. I’m still anticipating the upsell - a nice drop ship relationship with Pill Gates Profit Principles customers for the proclaimed “next hoodia.”
** Note: I want this to be very, very clear. Getting into the drop-shipping, physical products world is a leap from traditional info-marketing, and comes with all sorts of new perils. Particurally when you’re dealing with the supplements industry - finding a decent drop-shipper, manufacturer, having labels done, etc. can be a daunting task. Were Mok to offer a deal for his customers to sell the “next hoodia” (as I think he will… but it remains to be seen) it could be a win-win for all involved. Mok has an army of retailers selling the product, the retailers get first dibs on a new product in the super hot supplements industry. Nothing wrong with that.
What I think is particurally interesting is that Mok could have just written his email lists and said, “I’ve got a friend with a new supplement, it’ll be the next hoodia, and he’ll drop ship it for you. You can sell it at any price you want. Any name, private label it all.” He’d get decent response.
But what I anticipate him doing, instead, is having built up a list of people who’ve expressed interest (with their wallets) in the health supplements industry, he’s now able to make a much softer sell. And because he’s educated them ahead of time about the industry, they’re much more likely to have success selling the supplement.
And heck, maybe I’m entirely wrong about Mok’s sales funnel with this product. It’s happened before! But there’s still a lesson to be learned here in sub-lists, pre-qualifying customers, and creating educated customers.
