Rinse Your Micro Niches

By Michelle MacPhearson on 09 May 08 in : Internet Marketing with 6 Comments

Tony at Ton-O-Fun Family Friendly Fun Tunes send a personalized CD of songs for my son’s birthday - he just turned 6.

We popped it in the CD player and he (and his 1 year old brother) had an absolute blast dancing around to the music, and Rory was SHOCKED when he heard his name in the songs.  The last few times I’ve been on Skype with people he’s asked if it’s the man who made him the CD of songs.  Tony’s CD has been a BIG hit around here - if you’ve got little ones in your life, it’s a fun, personal gift they’ll adore.

This is an important concept in today’s world of micro-niches - the smaller and more targeted your market is, the more success you will have.  People love to feel that something was made just for them.

Weight loss is a huge niche.  Micro-niche that to weight loss for new moms in their 30’s or weight loss for people recovering from back injuries.  You’re still in a HUGE market (with HUGE revenues) but you’re making the easy sale because people see your product is specific to them.

Then you take that concept and repeat it.  Add in a site (or product) on losing the ‘freshman 15′ and another on weight loss after quitting smoking.

The information within each new site or product doesn’t necessarily change (weight loss is as simple as eating healthy foods and exercising, no matter who you are) but they way you present it does.  You present it  as if it was made specifically for your target market.

Within Clickbank, there’s a particular seller who specializes in “dog training” ebooks.  But rather then present surfers with a general “dog training” product, he  lists tens of products in Clickbank, each targeted towards a particular dog breed.  If you’re a German Shepherd owner, you rather buy a dog training book, or a ‘Training Your German Shepherd” book?  Of course, you’d want the one targeted JUST for your situation.  This Clickbank product owner then dominates the entire “dog training” market though his micro niches.

What’s more, it’s a heck of a lot easier to rank for a keyword when it’s a long tail, micro niche keyword.  Rank for weight loss?  That’s going to take some heavy hitting skills, time and money.  Rank for “post pregnancy weight loss” - not as tough, by any means.

Rinse, repeat.  You dominate the market via multiple ultra-targeted micro niches.

Updates Available

By Michelle MacPhearson on 06 May 08 in : Internet Marketing with 2 Comments

Some exciting news!

I’m going to be running some case study tests on the various “3 Way” link building services out there.

At the end, you’ll know which, if any, of the 3 way linking services available right now produce results!

I don’t run a 3 way link exchange, so it’s totally unbiased, hard numbers results I’m looking for to reach a conclusion, nothing more.

I’ll be using Happar to power the sites, because Happar sites are excellent search engine magnets and they’re very simple to build.

(If you missed last week’s message on Happar, I’m offering a massive discount for my subscribers on the premiere easy site building script.  You can ONLY get that discount at this link, it’s not available anywhere else).

A new feature set was released for the script last Thursday as well - keyword banning is now active so you can keep your site totally on target, and there’s an auto-uploader so you can add all your content at once, rather then one at a time.  It’s very slick, and I was involved in the beta testing so I know it works like mad (I must’ve driven the poor programmer nuts!)

Tons of folks have emailed asking when the Happar bonus webinar will be (when you purchase via the link above I’m doing a special, private webinar showing your EXACTLY how I set up and use Happar).  I’ve not scheduled it yet, but I’m looking at next week.  I want as many people as possible to get into Happar so they can take advantage of the webinar, because not only will I be talking about how I customize and set up the script for maximum profitability, but I’ll also be covering:

*  Where I get quality articles written for as little as $0.25 each!
*  How to populate your M.E. sites with video, mp3, and image content
*  Get your sites indexed by the search engines
*  Tricks to build links, avoid the sandbox, and increase your traffic

The webinar will be recorded for those of you that can’t make the live show.

It’s because of these flexible features and built in search engine optimization that I’ve chosen Happar to be the platform on which my 3 way link service tests are built.  With happar, there’s no uploading plugins, configuring them and changing templates to accommodate new features, like one has to do with Wordpress.  It’s one simple package I can upload, install & add content to. (You can read more about Happar at their features page, but remember not to buy from that page, you’ll pay about 3x more then you will via this link).

Do watch my blog for developments in the 3 way link building tests.

Also, if you missed last weeks post with details on the webinar and the discount I’ve arranged for you, it can be found here.

Personal Coaching - On Twitter?

By Michelle MacPhearson on 06 May 08 in : New Web Technology with 1 Comment

Right now I’m doing coaching on Twitter!  You can ask anything about internet marketing, social media, SEO, mindset - any topic, really, and I’ll answer quick-like.

Remember to post your questions on Twitter with @michellem in the body to ensure I get them.

This is a great exercise in distilling your question (and my answer) to their very essence, since Twitter only allows 140 characters.

We’re All There, Join Us

By Michelle MacPhearson on 29 Apr 08 in : Social Media Optimization with 15 Comments

Ed Dale’s been preaching the beauty of Twitter for like 15 years already, I first blogged re: Twitter on 4/2/07 and mailed my list 4/20/07.  If you didn’t get the memo, John Reese joined Twitter.

It’s happening.  We’re all there.

For the late adopters, I’ve been having my daily tweets auto-posted in a summary here on the blog - so you didn’t have to be on Twitter to see what was happening.  I usually tweet cool links, interesting info, etc. that may not warrant a whole blog post in it’s own right - or when I’m feeling lazy and don’t want to write a whole blog post I’ll tweet the info instead.

However.

I don’t like the tweets cluttering up the blog.  And I’ve removed the daily auto-posting feature.

No more late adopters.  You must get on Twitter and follow me to see my tweets.

No, I don’t want to know you’re going to go wash your hair - and if you think that’s what Twitter is about, you’re sooo missing out!

I’ve met some awesome folks via Twitter already - had great conversations, given ideas out, formed alliances and made new friends.

Don’t hop on Twitter and ask everyone to check out your Genital Warts blog.  Follow some marketers you know and join the conversations.  Post links to anything interesting you run across during the day.  Ask questions.

I could sit here and tell you I want you to follow me on Twitter so I could have another channel to reach you on, to increase my follower count.  The thing is, it’s not about me.

If you’re not Twittering - or at least following the Twitter account of other top marketers - you’re totally missing out on the conversation that’s going on over there.  Sherman Hu broadcasting live - announced on Twitter.  Jeff Walker announcing new PLF modules being released - on Twitter.  Jason Moffatt being, uh, raw - on Twitter.  Joel Comm, Dr. Mike, Mike Filsaime, all Twittering.

We’re all there.  Come join us.

Crockpot Link Building

By Michelle MacPhearson on 27 Apr 08 in : Internet Marketing with 3 Comments
I set it and forget it just like I do my crock pot!

That’s what Loretta wrote about how easy (and quick) 30 Minute Backlinks is.

But not only did she find it quick and “set-it-and-forget-it” simple to use the 30 Minute Backlinks system - Loretta saw some incredible results during her 1 month case study:

…575 new and unique links are pretty good results that were well worth 30 minutes of my time to build.

Read her entire 30 Minute Backlinks case study (with screenshots!) here to see how she did it.
